Email Marketing Blog Makeover and First Fold Launches

Just as some of my readers ask me the other day if I am going to abandon email marketing entirely, I am launching a new blog especially on that topic. This new blog is called First Fold. It is a site dedicated to email and ezine marketing.

After all my efforts on other technological marketing channels like blogging, Really Simple Syndication (RSS), and podcasting, it comes to no surprise why they assumed about my view on email marketing.

Adds in the myth that RSS is going to replace email marketing, suddenly those who advocate one marketing channel will be thought as the one who fight against the other. That simply cannot be farther from the truth.

Email marketing is and will be one of the most effective marketing tool due to its nature. Tactics change and evolve, but email will stay as one of the most frequently used communication medium on the Net. It is even more common than the Web.

RSS and email marketing are going to complement each other. No one is going to replace the other.

With that said, there are particularly two reasons why I move my email marketing blog to its new domain, FirstFold.com:

  1. To focus on the topic more extensively - Not that I was not serious about building an email marketing resource, but now as it moves into a new domain I could make a bold claim to turn it into a one stop resource site of email marketing and e-newsletter publishing.
  2. Branding - Who said branding only belongs to large corporations?

This site maintains its original blog format because of the interaction I want it to keep as part of the characteristics of the site.

It should serve as my learning tool and hopefully for all of us. Nothing can accelerate that more than actual participation of the readers (i.e. you) too.
