Posted by Hendry Lee on 10/12/06 in News and Events
A Web 2.0 service that works much like Digg but for email is now available. FWDitOn.com is a repository for funny emails circulating on the Internet.
Users of the site can rate email forwards (FWDs) out of 5 stars. They record this information and list the best fwd’s circulating around.
Version 2 added much more stuff include Ajaxy interface, tell-a-friend, RSS feeds, daily and weekly digests, etc. The website also had removed most Google AdSense ads, although they retain the blocks in several places to earn some revenue.
Since TechCrunch featured the site, the traffic to FWDitOn.com has been bosted to about 10,000 pageloads and 3,000+ unique visitors per day.
Current free users could tell a friend about the service, forward the entry to an email, subscribe to free daily or weekly email digest, search the archives, or use the “spy” feature to see a real-time view of the website. The rating submission feature is also a breeze.
Members have access to some extra features such as marking fwd’s as favorites, being able to forward emails on to more than one email address at a time, and track the submitted fwd’s.
