Reading sites and blogs related to email marketing recently, I bet you will stumble upon at least a few entries regarding to AOL, Goodmail and Certified Email. ClickZ has two more articles regarding the issues. Worth reading if you really into what marketers think about the move.
The first article from Kevin Newcomb, Marketers Mixed on AOL-Goodmail Plans is a collection of opinions from marketers and industry players including e-mail service providers.
The second article is an insights from Al DiGuido, AOL’s Getting Into the Postage Game, covering important points that marketers should focus on even if postage is in place.
It’s better to bear in mind the permission nature of the e-mail channel. Postage or not, focus on delivering messages packed with relevancy, personalization, and value to customers. That way, when a consumer does open the postage-paid express mail package, she’ll find the marketer has done much more than just ensure message delivery; he’s made the experience valuable.
