What if you have some free e-mail newsletter to offer to your website visitors, but only a small percentage of them opt-in to receive them? Jeanne Jennings writes an article for ClickZ to give you some ideas on how to increase your subscription rate.
She started with opt-out strategy, which I always recommend against.
Other tactics include selling the benefits of your e-newsletter in the sign-up and/ or landing page, be relevant all the time, and monitor your metrics (numbers) and test.
Nowadays, it is not enough to have a free newsletter. People expect more. Give them a teaser like special report, whitepaper or e-course. No matter which guide you follow, they might not be applicable to your industry. You can learn how to test different components in e-mail marketing and get some ideas to get started, but you have to test it to believe it.
