- The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) charged Kodak Imaging Network for violating CAN-SPAM Act. Kodak sent a commercial e-mail message to more than two million recipients that failed to contain an opt-out mechanism failed to disclose in the e-mail message that consumers have the right to opt-out of receiving further mailings, and failed to include a valid physical postal address, as required by law.
- Spam is again on the rise, dominated by a flood of junk images that spammers have created to trick e-mail filters. The total number of spam message sent daily is up 40 percent since April.
