Today’s Tidbits - 19 June 2006

Can you believe how much is happening in a day in e-mail marketing industry? There are only so many hours a day and so much to cover. It is my goal to use this blog to share as much related news, tips, tactics, strategies around e-mail marketing with my readers.

And I need a way to keep up without turning away from my other projects. The new format I am going to introduce in this article accomplish it excellently.

At times where I have little to comment about, I am going to post a summary and probably a line or two of my own comments in a bullet point format. Some days, it will be a handful of points, but other days it will be more than usual. Yet on another day, I might not have any to post.

The intention is to point you to as many interesting inforaation as possible. I hope you will find this blog more useful this day.

Here are some for today:

  • For the first time in its history, AOL is displaying ads along with e-mail messages to its paying subscribers. They hope to increase the delivery mechanisms of its online ad inventory.
  • Observing 15,000 users of its Iconic Truemark service, the company come to conclusion that users were twice as likely to open a message marked with a visual icon indicating its authencity as compared to an unmarked message.
